GENERAL INFORMATION - Applications were due on May 30, 2008.

For the 2008-2009 academic year, a total of five (5) Scholarship Awards of $500 each will be awarded to qualifying applicants, payable to the college/school, in the following categories:

• Three (3) Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors planning to attend any accredited college, university, junior college, or community college.

• One (1) Scholarship will be awarded to graduating high school seniors planning to attend an accredited technical college or vocational institute.

• One (1) Scholarship will be awarded to an adult member of Local 367 planning to return to an accredited college or a technical school.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Members, spouses, and unmarried children of a member whose membership in Local 367 has been in good standing for one year prior to application deadline;

• Applicants may apply in only one (1) category;

• Scholarship must be used for the 2008 - 2009 academic year;

• Must graduate from high school and have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or above.

HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

To be considered for a Scholarship, you must submit:

• Confidential application

• Two letters of recommendation from your choice of two of the following categories:
1. One personal (excluding family member)
2. Teacher, counselor, or principal
3. Union Representative or Employer

• Official sealed high school transcripts

ADULT MEMBERS

To be considered for a Scholarship, you must submit:

• Confidential application

• High school transcripts or diploma

• One letter of recommendation from each of the following categories:
1. One personal (excluding family member)
2. Union Representative or Employer

• Must show union involvement/activity within the past three years, i.e., bargaining committee, shop steward, union counselor, community involvement, etc.

Applications were due by May 30, 2008.
