Dan Hacker: Retired PC Sheriff
I recently retired from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department. I feel my experience as a Deputy Sheriff for over 30 years, along with my teaching history, will make the classroom environment valuable and well received. Among other things, I was a SWAT Team member for over 14 years, I was a defensive tactics instructor with my department for over 11 years, and I was a firearms instructor in my department for over 10 years.
I’ve taught Avoiding and Surviving Hostile Encounters, Workplace Safety, Defensive Tactics, and Emergency Preparedness to multiple schools, churches, businesses, citizen groups, and government agencies for many years.
It is no longer a question about whether grocery workers face risks on the job. The tragic reality is that they face multiple threats at the workplace every single day.
-UFCW International President Marc Perrone
