My mother is a WFSE member and my father is an ILWU member.  So, naturally, in April of 2019, I became a UFCW 367 member. More recently, I became a Shop Steward in December of 2021 and in 2022  I was selected as a bargaining team member. 

 

At work, I frequently hear long-time members talking about a time when grocery jobs were once respected by the public comparable to that of public sector workers like teachers or bus drivers. 

 

I believe that, via the power of unity and organizing, we can rebuild the respect for our professions that were once held by our community, as well as by our employer.
