ABOUT
UFCW LOCAL 367
Founded in 1934 as Retail Clerks Local 367, our union has deep roots across Pierce, Mason, Lewis, Thurston, Pacific, and Grays Harbor counties. Today, UFCW Local 367 proudly represents more than 8,000 workers in grocery, retail, food processing, cannabis, and other essential industries throughout the South Sound.
For generations, we have been a driving force for worker power in the region—standing alongside Central Labor Councils, community partners, and working families to build stronger, safer, and more equitable workplaces.
A pivotal moment in our history came in 1979 with the merger of the Retail Clerks and the Amalgamated Meat Cutters. This powerful unification of two long-standing worker organizations led to the formation of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW), creating a new era of solidarity and strength rooted in the fight for fair wages, dignity on the job, and economic security for all.
UFCW Local 367 is part of the broader UFCW International Union—the largest private-sector union in the United States—representing 1.3 million members and their families across grocery stores, meatpacking, food processing, retail, health care, and other essential industries. UFCW members serve communities in all 50 states, Canada, and Puerto Rico, united by one mission: to lift standards for working people everywhere.
THREE KEYS TO MEMBER-DRIVEN
ORGANIZE
We are committed to growing our Union through a comprehensive Organizing strategy that focuses on UFCW core industries: Grocery, Retail, and Food Processing. Local 367 sees workers as part of the greater community and shows them how to become leaders for change. Organizing is the foundation for building a stronger Union and community for tomorrow.
EDUCATE
We are committed to the development of our membership and staff through continuous education. Our newly refurbished Union Hall’s Training Center combines classroom learning, virtual streaming and technology, and historical perspective to ensure our leaders are at the forefront of the labor movement.
ENGAGE
We are committed to engaging with our members and the communities we serve. Local 367 represents workers across Pierce, Mason, Thurston, Grays Harbor, Lewis, and Pacific Counties. We can honor our differences while standing together in solidarity. The Union Hall was once a place of comradery and we should strive to recapture what makes us strong.
