WHY ORGANIZE WITH UFCW LOCAL 367?

WHY ORGANIZE WITH UFCW LOCAL 367?

What Organizing with UFCW 367 Means for You

When cannabis workers come together to form a union, they gain the power to create real change, whether in a dispensary, grow facility, kitchen, or lab.

With a union, you have a say in your workplace conditions, and the ability to negotiate what matters most to you, including:

Washington’s Original Cannabis Union Is Back

In the mid-2010s, UFCW Local 367 was at the forefront of organizing cannabis workers in Washington, helping set the standard for fair pay, job protections, and safe workplaces across the industry.

After several years without union representation, too many cannabis workers were left without the protections they needed.

Now, UFCW Local 367 is back and stronger than ever, partnering with UFCW International’s Cannabis Workers Rising campaign to ensure workers across South Puget Sound and Southwest Washington have the support, security, and voice they deserve.

Victory for WA Cannabis Workers

Washington Governor Bob Ferguson signed House Bill 1141 into law, extending collective bargaining rights to agricultural cannabis workers in the state. Representative Lillian Ortiz-Self, sponsor of the bill, stated that the legislation “corrects a historical exclusion by granting these workers the right to unionize—an important step toward equity in one of the state’s fastest-growing industries.”
