Food Processing/Packing
UFCW proudly represents workers in the food processing and meat-packing industries, where workplace safety is a top priority. These high-hazard environments involve interactions with animals and heavy machinery, and fast line speeds can further amplify risks. By joining UFCW, workers gain critical workplace safety protections, empowering them to speak out or halt unsafe operations without fear of retaliation. We collaborate with employers to ensure our members have a voice in health and safety matters, including provisions for safe working conditions, union access for worksite inspections, and protective equipment. Our contracts also offer reimbursement for protective gear and include opportunities for career development through training and leadership roles.
