GRIT 2.0, is a groundbreaking project designed to support low-income, single-head-of-household families in Tacoma with no-strings-attached cash gifts.
GRIT 2.0, also known as the Guaranteed Income Project, is a 12-month cash gift program aimed at boosting the financial security of families in our community. Through a partnership with the Washington State Economic Services Administration, the City of Tacoma, Pierce County Government, and United Way of Pierce County,
GRIT 2.0 offers much-needed support to those who need it most.
Starting March 1, 2024, families can apply to participate in GRIT 2.0. If selected, participants will receive a guaranteed cash gift of $500 per month for 12 months. These funds are provided with no strings attached, allowing families to use the money in whatever way best meets their needs. Whether it's covering bills, groceries, or unexpected expenses, GRIT 2.0 is here to offer support.
